Chef's Gallery - the new Din Tai Fung?

501 George Street, Sydney

It's 12.05pm on a Tuesday afternoon, and I'm thinking Chef's Gallery for lunch. Now I've heard that it gets busy, and I thought really? On a Tuesday afternoon? Well indeed it did. I managed to get a table before the queue started to form at about 12.30pm.

Clear noodle soup with 2 pork ribs $13.80

Had the soup noodle which comes with two pork ribs, and the snowflake chicken with fried rice. You can probably find a similar version of these dishes at Din Tai Fung. Are they just as good as at Din Tai Fung? I think they are. Service is quick and efficient, there are plenty of waiters on standby to fill up your water, or answer your questions. The fried pork and chicken was really crispy and beautiful! You'll love it if you love fried food like I do :) And the fried rice is very similar in taste to Din Tai Fung. Just saying... Will definately be back here.

2 Pork Ribs comes with the noodle soup (If you don't like your fried stuff getting soggy in the soup, ask for it to be put on a separate platelike I have done here).

Fried Rice with Snowflake Chicken $15.90

Snowflake Chicken Fillet

The moral of the story is:

1. Come super early if you don't want to queue; or
2. Make a booking; and
3. You get 25% off if you use the entertainment book voucher!
