Ichiraku Japanese Noodle Bar, Eastwood Sydney

Ichiraku Japanese Noodle Bar on Urbanspoon

Shop 2, 4A Hillview Road, Eastwood NSW 2122

Opened: Tuesday to Sunday: Lunch 11:30am - 3.00pm, Dinner 5.30pm to 9.30pm.

Dinner time finds me in Eastwood, Sydney. Now this suburb is probably more "Chinatown" than "Chinatown" in Sydney city. I think they should rename it. Eastwood is buzzing with people at night, queues and queues of people line up at the restaurants. Makes me feel like I'm in Asia again! Japanese, Chinese, Shanghai and Korean restaurants. Plenty to choose from. But be early otherwise you may find it hard to get a spot to eat!

I'm craving Japanese tonight. So it’s to Ichiraku Japanese Noodle Bar I go.

The Ox Tongue Bento box was delicious, and includes fresh salmon sashimi, lightly salted ox tongue, miso soup, seaweed, salad, gyoza and rice. At $15.50 this was good value. Teriyaki Chicken Udon noodles at $11.80 was tasty, light, and complemented the bento box well. Prices are very reasonable and affordable. The shop was roomy, and comfortable for a relaxing, peaceful dinner meal and chat with friends.

The menu is extensive, lots of choices to choose from - ramen, udon, sashimi, sushi roll, donburis, bento boxes. They also do catering which is great when you can't decide what to bring to a party. $48 for a combination of 60 pieces of mini rolls or $37.80 for a combination of 26 pieces of sashimi and 4 pieces of oyster is great value for money.

Dine in, and collect a stamp. On your 10th visit, receive a 'Shoyu Ramen' for free!
